Through The Fire

I have always imagined hell as a giant fireplace with human souls used as firewood. If I believe I'm going to hell, you don't have to convince me to believe otherwise. I don't plan on taking you with me anyway. I have been raised to believe that I'm going to hell someday but it doesn't scare me.

A gay friend went to a Catholic retreat once and they were asked to confess their sins. I asked him to name the sins he confessed. He confessed about being rude to his parents. He confessed about failing to go to church on days of obligation. He confessed about thinking ill of others. That's about it. Those deeds, for him, are the only sins he committed.

I didn't agree and I'm sure some of you will disagree with me but I see no point in arguing. Although we are not hurting anyone with our lifestyle, I was made to believe that we're living in sin. Someday we'll go to hell because of this.

If I tell you that what I'm doing is a sin, I don't mean I see myself less of a person than anybody. Some of the most important people in the world have committed the greatest sins. That is not an excuse for sinning. I claim my sins but I'm not sorry for some of them.

It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

- excerpt from The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

I'm not scared of going to hell. I'm more afraid of seeing someone hurt because of me. I can see myself burning for the rest of eternity. Don't feel sorry for me. I'm trying to live the best possible life I can and if going to hell is just a payment, I'm willing to pay the price. I let myself love and it is all worth it.

hell is the consummation of everything that is ungodly. though my disposition may not be considered ideal in the eyes of many men, i'm thankful, in the end, i don't have to answer to them. truly, my judge is by far more fair.

i was given this hope for hell, is no place for me. hell is no place for anyone actually.

having been raised as a catholic, my parent sent me on a catholic school for 11 years. i remembered when i was at around grade 4, they gave us this book called, "my first cathecism", i still have it with me. and the book points out the gay people, like the ones in sodom and gomorrah, will burn in hell. it left an impact with me

but amidst the fear and the uncertainty, i figured that god is a forgiving god. he sees us for all we are and we need to trust his plans.

okay, i'll stop now. haha.

i believe that sin is the concept of men, not of god. i honestly believe that hell doesn't exist. but still, i try not to step on anyone's toes as much as possible. :)

Is there such a thing as heaven and hell? All I wish to believe is the thought of being reborn in another body again.

Pero tama ka. I'm more worried hurting others because of me.

Before anything, Xtan is JUST a character in my story and may not share my sentiments. :)

Thanks everyone for sharing your insights. I really wanted to hear those.

sinner or saint?

I don't think there's anything much I can share here, except that I was raised not to believe in hell.
