OSS # 92: Sexy Back
People might think that my dolls often have sex. One could think that this could reflect the my preoccupation with sex. There is no denying that.
I am preoccupied with sex. I have been a colony of sex politics imposed by the church and society. One way of breaking free is looking and presenting sex in a different way.
In the Bible, the first instance showing the negative appreciation on the genitalia and sexuality can be first observed after Adam and Eve had a taste of the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge. I think of it as a powerful metaphor. Consuming the fruits of knowledge suddenly made our Biblical ancestor shameful about themselves. Concepts of right and wrong (especially about sex) guided their actions and their descendants'. Wrong doers are discriminated and punished. Knowledge now turned to a form of bondage.
When God ordered Adam and Eve not to consume the forbidden fruit, did He want the two to be free from the knowledge hence the bondage? Did God want the two to enjoy their nakedness and their sexuality in anyway they please?
Of course, when a line of thought ends with what God intended, it usually is a dead end.

can we look at it at another way? naisip ko lang... can we then say that accepting homosexuality is like one of the apples in the tree of knowledge that will set them free from ignorance or will it be the same thing rin na people will be driven off of the paradise and suffer turmoil?
After Eden, knowledge (of right and wrong) has become a commodity (being sold) and who ever possess it has power over the consumer of that knowledge. Knowledge is power (according to Ernie baron...hehehe) but the same knowledge could spell bondage to the other party not in control of the knowledge.
I was asking if God wanted it that way. But who knew what God wanted, right?
Although I don't think I have given it much thought. It was kinda spur of a moment. I was reading about sex and being a senior citizen to write something that could go with the comic strip. Then i saw an article about what sex is for (and what's its not supposed to be for) based on the Judeo-Christian belief. And then the thought of sex being shameful and then this post...
